Rugby Mining limited

TSX.V: RUG

Corporate History

Rugby Mining Limited (“Rugby”) was incorporated in British Columbia Canada in January 2007 under its original name Carlyle Mining Corporation (“Carlyle”). Its first financial year end was from the period of incorporation to February 28, 2007 and the Company became a reporting issuer on the TSX Venture Exchange in May, 2007 under the trading symbol CLY.

Management soon determined that the Company needed a bold, new name that would be more representative of its core values including its:
Determination, Competitive Drive and a Passion for Excellence.

So, in March 2009, Carlyle officially became Rugby and began trading on the TSX-V under the symbol RUG.

Soon after becoming Rugby, the Company secured its first mineral project: The Hawkwood Project (“Hawkwood”). Hawkwood is a project located in southeast Queensland, Australia. Hawkwood is a large project that shows the characteristics of hosting many different kinds of minerals.

In January 2010, the Company signed a Joint Venture Agreement with Eastern Iron Limited over a portion of the property that is considered to host large amounts of iron. Details of the agreement and more on Hawkwood can be found in the Properties section of this website.

The Company became very active in the later half of 2010 with the acquisition of three mineral properties and a private placement financing. In October 2010 Rugby entered into two mineral property agreements which included the Mabuhay Porphyry in Northern Mindanao, Philippines and the Comita Porphyry Property in Colombia. Later in October 2010, the Company completed a private placement financing at $0.85 and raised $8.5 million. Shortly after the closing of this financing Rugby again announced that it had entered into an agreement over the Interceptor Porphyry project in Argentina.

Rugby’s Management continues to scout other high potential properties around the world but its focus now is to identify mineral porphyry ore bodies on its exciting new properties. With our team’s past successes and experience in finding very large deposits in Asia and South America, we are confident that we have what it takes to find another great deposit.
